There are a few places to go on a safari in Sri Lanka but we recommend Udawalawe. In our opinion this is a much more animal friendly alternative comparing to the famous Yala.

Balloon ride in Dambulla
To see the sunrise in a hot air balloon, flying over the beautiful forests of Sri Lanka, is really a once in a lifetime experience. No need to say anything else!

Sigiriya or Lion Rock is a massive column of rock that juts out from the green tropical forest. It reaches 660 feet tall and features frescoes, graffiti, and landscaped gardens. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress and palace built by King KashyapaIt over 1,500 years ago

When in Udawalawe do not miss the Elephant Transit Home, a rehabilitation center for orphanage calves. Thay take care of the calves until they are strong enough to be let back into the wild again.
