A beautiful beach heals your soul
A short tuc tuc ride away from Villa Vanna you have several different beautiful beaches to choose from. Why not explore a new one every day?
TALPE BEACH
Talpe Beach is one of the closest beaches to Villa Vanna. It is a small beach but very popular due to the famous rock pools. Definitely worth a visit!
UNAWATUNA
Unawatuna is a big beautiful beach where you find lots of beach restaurants and sunbeds. There are also activities like snorkeling, diving boats and jet skies.
The small road leading down to the beach is filled with cool shops and restaurants.
DEWATA
Perfect beach if you want to learn how to surf. The water is shallow a long way out and the waves are perfect for beginners to intermediate. If you are looking for a surf instructor please contact Raja, he will help you if you have never stood on a surfboard before or if you soon are a total pro!
DALAWELLA - WIYAJA
A natural pool is formed by the reef just outside and makes this beach perfect for smaller kids. You can also snorkel with the turtles that comes in almost every afternoon, but please do not touch them.
HABARADUWA
Not a beach for swimming due to strong currents. But worth a visit to have a long quiet walk, you will most probably have it almost to yourself. The sunsets here are stunning. There are one or two small restaurants on the beach, we just love sitting here enjoying the moment and life.
KABALANA
Beautiful beach with small beach huts and some restaurants, perfect for a relaxing day. One of our favourite beaches in the area, if you stay for the sunset you will not be disappointed.
Kids love bodyboarding in the waves!
WELIGAMA
A long beach, very popular amongst surfers. You find loads of surfboard renters and instructors along the beach.
Also famous for Taprobane Island, a tiny rock isle attached to the island of Sri Lanka by a small strip of sand, which is often submerged by rising tides.
HIKKADUWA
A little bit further away but worth to make a visit during a day. Hikkaduwa is a popular beach amongst both tourists and locals. In the northern part you can feed turtles, but please do not touch them!
The further south you get the more empty the beach gets, so it is up to you to choose your preference!
